Pic Of The Day – TB spine, Paraplegia, CT Myelogram and ExtraDural Obstruction
This middle-aged gentleman has paraplegia. His MRI is difficult to interpret due to the kyphoscoliosis.
The CT myelogram done on Saturday beautifully shows the extradural obstruction at the L2-3 level caused by an anterior calcified mass that is continuous with the calcified psoas abscess, exacerbated by a posteriorly calcified lesion that extends from D9 to L2, the span of the destroyed vertebral bodies.
This is likely the sequel of old tuberculosis.
CT myelograms still help once in a while.
